CAROTENOIDS

marigolds

Carotenoids are produced by photosynthetic and enzymatic reactions within microorganisms and plants. The carotenoids actually contribute the bright yellow, orange, and red colors to flowers, plants, and fruit. Predominantly used as food colorants, they find extensive use in nutraceutical, cosmetics, pharmaceutical and animal food industries.

The nutraceutical market has seen a significant increase in demand due to the extensive amount of clinical study data supporting a variety of health benefits. These benefits are demonstrated for vision support, heart health, antioxidant activity supporting cellular health, as well as cognitive and brain health.  Lutein, Zeaxanthin, Beta Carotene, Astaxanthin, and Lycopene are all part of the rapidly growing category of Carotenoids.
