John Nolan, PhD,Fulbright Scholar, European Research Council Fellow, is the founder and director of the Nutrition Research Centre Ireland (www.nrci.ie) and is the Principal Investigator at the Waterford Institute of Technology in Ireland. He specializes in the role of nutrition in vision, prevention of blindness and the link between brain health and function. He has been a frequent presenter (over 100+) at international scientific conferences and has published more than 100 peer-reviewed scientific papers. John also holds editorial roles at the European journal of Ophthalmology and the Journal or Alzheimer’s Disease. He is also the Chair of the International Brain and Ocular Nutrition Conference (BON Conference)
Steve Farrar, MS, Mycologist, is recognized as a worldwide renowned mycologist, with an MS in Horticulture. Steve has over 30 years experience of cultivating and growing culinary and medicinal mushrooms. He has pioneered mushroom species identification and optimal cultivation of mushrooms for the nutraceutical industry. Steve is the co-founder of M2 Organic Mushroom products in Carlsbad, CA.
Ari Mackler, PhD, MBA, obtained his PhD in reproductive physiology and immunology, and also completed his post doctoral fellowship in developmental and molecular biology, then completed his MBA. After a decade in the pharmaceutical industry in the area of pregnancy, contraception and oncology, Ari went on to seek new opportunities to develop and use good science in new and needed areas. After 9 years at the Wonderful Company exploring microbiome, cell biology and neurobiology, Ari continue to push the limit of phytochemistry and is now the Chief Science Office at Plus Products where he examines cannabis phytochemistry and how it can be used safely to promote health and wellness.
Michael Lewis, MD. a graduate of the U.S. Military Academy at West Point and Tulane University School of Medicine. Dr. Lewis is board-certified and a Fellow of the American College of Preventative Medicine and the American College of Nutrition. He complete post-graduate training at Walter Reed Army Medical Center, Johns Hopkins University, and Walter Reed Army Institute of Research. He is currently in private practice in Potomac, Maryland (BrainCARE – www.BrainCARE.center), is a consultant to the U.S. Army and Navy as well as several organizations, institutes and nutrition companies around the world, and a founding member of the Pop Warner Youth Football Medical Advisory Board. Dr. Lewis is an expert on brain health and the prevention, management, nutritional interventions (particularly the use of Omega-3 fatty acids) and rehabilitation of concussions and traumatic brain injury. He found the nonprofit Brain Health Education and Research Institute in 2011 when he retired as a colonel after a distinguished 31-year career in the U.S. army, and now operates BrainCARE, where he fosters better brain health for people around the world.
