Excipients can also be used as a binder to keep all the ingredients together in a tablet and not allow them to crumble into a powder. Lastly, capsules with micro ingredients need a carrier – otherwise, without any excipients used, they would look practically empty. The use of non-toxic excipients are safe and are an essential part of dietary supplements.
